🏌️♀️ Westward Ho Women’s Open Day 2026 🏌️♀️
What a fantastic day we had for our Women’s Open Day on Tuesday 11 August, with 112 golfers taking part in a Fourball Best Ball competition.
It was wonderful to welcome more than 50 visitors representing 12 different South Australian golf clubs, joining our Westward Ho members for one of the highlights of our women’s golfing calendar.
Despite the torrential rain on Sunday, the course was presented in great condition, and we extend our sincere thanks to the course team for their efforts in having it ready for such a big day.
There were plenty of treats along the way, including cakes handed out on the course, before everyone returned to enjoy a lovely three-course lunch in our newly renovated clubrooms.
A huge thank you to our Women’s Committee for the tremendous amount of work that went into organising the day. Events like this don’t happen without a great deal of planning and effort behind the scenes, and the result was a wonderful day of golf, friendship and hospitality.
Thank you also to all our members and visitors who joined us and helped make the day such a success. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!

🏆 Congratulations William Byers! 🏆
We are delighted to congratulate 16-year-old member William Byers on his outstanding performance at the South Australian Inclusive Open, held at Sandy Creek Golf Club on 9–10 July.
William won the Standing 1 Sport Class title on countback and was also the Overall Runner-Up in the Men's Stableford competition.
These impressive results have elevated William to No. 1 in Australia and No. 7 in the world in the Under-21 Stableford in the World Rankings for Golfers with a Disability.

William has been a valued member of Westward Ho Golf Club for seven years and continues to demonstrate remarkable dedication, sportsmanship and talent. We are incredibly proud of his achievements and look forward to following his golfing journey in the years ahead.
